Colors Of The Waves

http://www.flickr.com
Photographer David Orias's ocean images are shot just off the California coast. To achieve such wonderful depth and color, Orias relies on long shutter speeds and camera motion. He shot these photographs at dawn. Orias's images are photographed to show the world in a way our eyes cannot see. He's photographs have a painterly quality. (ABOVE) The bright orange, and yellow tones of the wave are phenomenal. The rich blue looks so luxurious. (BELOW 1) This wave looks like it's on fire. The bright yellow and orange pop out at you. (BELOW 2) Here the colors are more subdued. You can see a slight green undertone. This photograph is the ultimate balance of hot and cold. What do you think of Orias's photographs?

Featured Home: Diane von Furstenberg

http://lovefashionmoney.com
Diane von Furstenberg's Parisian apartment is full of personality and glamour. The apartment screams DVF, with its globally inspired furnishings and patterned textiles. (ABOVE) Diane's desk is neatly organized with tin's for her writing utensils, and given a touch of color with a bouquet of pink flowers. (BELOW 1) Diane's office is quite simple, a desk, and a sofa. A simply designed office space keeps clutter at a minimum. I love how she brought color and pattern into the space. The view out the window from her chair is probably incredible. (BELOW 2) Diane's bedroom remains neutral except for the animal print bedspread. Normally I love a white bedspread, but because the rest of the space is subdued the bedspread is a nice burst of energy and color. A canopy bed is so relaxing. (BELOW 3) Diane's library features built in shelves to house her huge selection of books. The lounge chair looks like she picked it up from somewhere in Asia, or Morocco? What do you think of DVF's apartment?

Castle Design: Egeskov Castle

http://en.wikipedia.org
Egeskov Castle is a 14th century castle located in Denmark. The castle is Europe's best preserved Renaissance water castle. The castle is constructed on oaken piles and located in a small lake to fortify it due to general civil unrest. (ABOVE) The round-arched windows and gabled roof are stunning. I love the ivy growing up the left side of the wall. There is a large lawn around the house, that is beautifully landscaped. (BELOW 1) The castle looks like a university. I love the Lilly pads and cobblestone driveway. The driveway was added on later. (BELOW 2) Originally the only way to get to the castle was via a drawbridge which can be seen here. I love the topiaries and long drive up to the castle. (BELOW 3) I love this photograph, the sunset setting on the brick, captures the beauty and age of the brick. The brick roof looks like two cathedrals. The water is crystal clear, what a fabulous reflection. What do you think of the castle?

Today's Must Have: Mar 25, 2013

How elegant are these Veronique Branquinho heels? I love the color of the heels; blue and brown look so chic together. The chunky heels looks like wood, it's a strong, grounding piece. These shoes could be worn with a pair of shorts and tank during the warm days that are on their way! Or the shoes could be warn with a dress. The shorts are more casual, the dress is more formal. What do you think of the heel?

Hotel Design: Viceroy Anguilla

http://www.viceroyhotelsandresorts.com/anguilla
The Viceroy Anguilla is located in West End, Anguilla. The property features fantastic living spaces as well as beautifully manicured grounds and great places to eat, designed by Kelly Wearstler. (ABOVE) The architecture of the hotel is quite modern. It's clean and smooth like that of the sand. With just a few short steps from the water, it's the ideal location for the beach bum! (BELOW 1) The hotel features breezeways that one passes through to get to their suite. The tiling is modern, and gorgeous! I love the armchairs, they have that beach feel, but are very chic. (BELOW 2) The infinite pool is a phenomenal place to kick back and relax. It's definitely a great place to swim laps or sip a drink and look at the views! (BELOW 3) One can relax on a lounge chair or one can have a seat at one of the seating areas and read a great book. The seating areas or wonderfully designed. (BELOW 4) Half Shell Bar is a great place to enjoy a drink or a quick meal. With fantastic views of the sea and cliffs, it's a must visit while at the hotel. (BELOW 5) The Ocean Villa's are detached large size homes. The Ocean Villa's are three and four bedrooms. The Living Room of the villa is bright with floor to ceiling windows. The villa's have an infinite pool! What do you think of the hotel?

Beautiful Brazil

http://www.nytimes.com
Photographer Massimo Vitali went on a photographic journey to Brazil. Vitali captured the beauty and vitality of Brazil in his photographs. (ABOVE) Lençóis Maranhenses national park is a 600-square-mile sea of white sand dunes. The area gets roughly 60 inches of rain per year. During the rain season lagoons form between the dunes. How gorgeous is the crystal blue water against the white sand dunes? (BELOW 1) A short drive from Rio de Janeiro is Niterói. The area features several modern style homes designed by renowned Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. I would love to own any one of those homes. What an amazing view! (BELOW 2) The Ceagesp market is a wonderful place to interact with the locals and shop for fresh food. The market is hugely popular with 13 locations and over 2 billion dollars in yearly sales! Pretty cool! (BELOW 3) The Via Madelena neighborhood has a thriving graffiti and street art scene. Pieces like this make a big statement. (BELOW 4) Piscinão de Ramos is an artificial beach and swimming pool in Rio de Janeiro. Definitely a place to visit. Vitali really captured the energy of the area. What do you think of Vitali's work?

Angular Apartment Building

© Fernando Alda
Located in Spain and design by Studio Wet & Antonio G. Linan, this apartment building has a modern design. (ABOVE) The building is made out of clay-brick. The shape of the structure is quite unusual with its hard edges. The windows are the focal point of the structure. Each window is a different size and shape. The windows are not placed in a symmetrical position. (BELOW 1) The staircase leads to the entrance of the building. (BELOW 2) The red courtyard is an awesome surprise. You expect that the exterior facade would make its way into the courtyard. Instead, you are greeted by a modern, bright, red courtyard. (BELOW 3) I love the hard angles. The building looks like the wind is cutting it. What do you think of the apartment building? Would you live here?
