Room Spotlight: Casual Contemporary

This Casual Contemporary Living Room in Greenwich Village is full of natural materials, great textures and natural light. The rug is my favorite piece, because it brings a cool geometric pattern into the space. I like how there is not perfect symmetry on opposite sides of the fireplace. The lack of perfect symmetry allows the space to have that casual, laid back feel. The ceiling fixture has a very vintage feel, however, it does not feel dated. It's a simple piece that compliments the many stripe patterns found throughout the space in the pillow, rug, and right side art-piece. The coffee table is very beautiful. What I find interesting about the piece is that you can plant a plant inside it. What do you love about this space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.
