Room Spotlight: Traditional Eclectic

http://www.vogue.com
Located in Chelsea, NYC this lovely apartment is the home of designer Tabitha Simmons. The space above is traditionally grounded, with eclectic touches. For example, the chandelier is adorned with crystals and has a classic sensibility, while the coffee table has a more 70s edge. Many nature type items are found in the space, such as the butterfly rug, bird sculpture, and winged side table. I find these pieces to bring a natural calmness into the space. Architecturally speaking the doors that lead out to the balcony are gorgeous. They are clearly old-fashioned and bring a strong voice into the space. This space is not crowded with much furniture or accessories, therefore each piece really stands out. What do you love about this space? Which accessories or furnishings do you see in your home? I need the two armchairs! You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.
