JFK To SFO

It seems like whenever I'm flying 32,000ft above the ground with my camera, the shots never do the scenery justice. Chicago based photographer Paul Octavious, has better luck with his camera (thank goodness)! Without artists like Octavious we would never have such stunning photographs of our world below. (ABOVE) On his journey Octavious photographed wonderful landscapes. (BELOW 1 & 2) These photographs resemble a fabulous quilt or a brilliant collage. The muted colors are fantastic, as you really see each defined patch in the landscape. It looks unreal! (BELOW 3, 4, & 5) The desert looking terrain stands out against the deep blue water. Because the water is so blue it looks like a blanket. This effect creates powerful images, that should be hanging in my home! (BELOW 6) I love all the different variations in orange. I'm immediately drawn to the body of water that cuts the landscape in half. (BELOW 7) This shot looks like it was not taken on Earth. It's so odd, and really had me thinking. The green and beige disks look like they were plopped there by Aliens! (BELOW 8) The final shot is really great. I always love seeing the small cars and homes when I'm flying in the sky. What do you think of Paul Octavious's work?
