The Earthquake Blend

http://shawnclover.com
Artist Shawn Clover blended images from the great 1906 San Francisco earthquake and 2010 to create impeccable visual images. Clover worked hard to find not only images from the earthquake, but also the exact location where the images were taken. Clover was careful when blending the old photographs and the present photographs so that it looked like the photographs are single images. (ABOVE) "Pedestrians cross Jones street towards a pile of rubble on market street. The Hibernia Bank is burned out, but still standing strong" (Clover). (BELOW 1) "A cable car heads towards the California street incline while shocked residents walk aimlessly through the street amidst the devastation" (Clover). (BELOW 2) "Cable car #455 rests halfway in the partially destroyed cable car barn" (Clover). (BELOW 3) "A bicyclist rides towards the fallen Valencia St. Hotel and a huge sinkhole opens up in the street" (Clover). (BELOW 4) "People stroll by the original adobe Mission Dolores which survived while the brick church next door was destroyed" (Clover). What do you think of Shawn Clover's work?
