A Denver Green Home

Designed and built in Denver, by Mike Moore this home runs completely on solar energy. The exterior brick of the home is from a local demolition yard and elementary school. The image below is not a backyard as one would assume, instead, it is a green roof. Architect Mike Moore decided that it would be more environmentally friendly to use vegetation as a roof rather than materials. I think this home is brilliant. I love how the reused brick makes the home appear older. If you are currently thinking of building a home, consider looking for building material from a local demolition yard. Not only can score some beautiful old material, but you are also being green.
