How To Design Your Bathroom

http://archzine.org/homes/bathroom/decorate-the-bathroom/

The bathroom is your getaway. You look to your bathroom as your place of rejuvenation. I like my bathroom to function like a room. I often will place a chair, lamp, cabinet, etc., to bring the feeling of warmth to my bathroom. Invest in a good quality bathtub. Often times I will stay at a hotel where the bathtub is made of Acrylic, which is a form of plastic. Buying a Cast Iron bathtub, which is usually covered with a porcelain enamel coating, is a much better investment. Not only is it solid and looks beautiful, but it will last for a long time. Be sure all the fixtures match. Having different color and style faucet's in one bathroom is not good. Use glass shower doors. Glass shower doors are far more elegant than fabric curtains. (ABOVE) I like how the floors and walls match. This bathroom beams with energy. Don't be scared to take risks when designing your bathroom. (BELOW 1) I like the naturals wood tones of this bathroom. This bathroom is brilliant as you have the option of showering indoors or stepping out onto the balcony and showering outdoors. The open vanity is a great way to avoid the clutter that is usually found in a closed vanity. (BELOW 2) This beautiful armoire is perfect for this bathroom. Designer Darryl Carter, cleverly placed his and her bathtubs in this bathroom. (BELOW 3) This bathroom is very chic. By using floor to ceiling glass doors, you will never have to worry about a cold draft while showering. I also like how the medicine cabinets in this bathroom are built into the walls. (BELOW 4) This bathroom has a casual yet glamorous look. The traditional Louis armchair and floor to ceiling curtains and no door, make this bathroom look more like an extension of the master bedroom rather than just a bathroom. You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.
