Trend 101: Rock The Plaid

So many designers are rocking plaid in their Fall 2013 collections. For example, Karen Walker, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Emerson, and Rebecca Minkoff to just name a few. Plaid is the hottest trend right now, and I'm totally digging it. Plaid can be dressed up and made to look more elegant and formal or can be dressed down and made to look more rocker chic. Plaid is something that most guys have in their wardrobes, but few women do. Come on ladies, get your plaid on! Forget about the plaid skirts that you may have had to wear to school. (ABOVE) Miranda Kerr looks as cool as a girl can look in this Fall 2013 Mango campaign. A pair of plaid pants with a blazer is more dressed up. Style the look with a pair of rock star brogues, the perfect punk girl look.

(1) A plaid skirt with a white top is fresh and clean. Don't be afraid of adding an oversized clutch bag to complete your look. No school girl here!

(2) Wear a plaid shirt with a pair of boyfriend jeans. To make the look more feminine wear a pair of heels.

(3) Don't be shy! Pair different textured pieces with your plaid top. A soft skirt, a leather jacket, and a boxed clutch. It's the usually formal girl who wants to be a bit more casual today!
