The Waterfront House

http://www.sothebysrealty.com
I'm so excited about today's featured house. Isn't it just gorgeous? The home is located in Lloyd Harbor, New York and boasts over 15,000 square feet of living space on more than 3 acres of waterfront property. Each part of the property is meticulously landscaped and feels like a wonderful escape. With 6 bedrooms and 8 eight bathrooms it's definitely a home for a large family, in addition, the property features a detached guest house. (ABOVE) A long private driveway takes you to the front motorcourt. As you approach the front motorcourt you are surrounded by greenery and water to the left. The all-white facade gives it that refreshing feel. The home's architecture has many colonial influences. (BELOW 1) A private courtyard for you to relax. A beautiful stone floor, flowers, and tall trees make you feel as though you are in a different world. (BELOW 2) The side-yard features tall hedges for privacy as well as plenty of lawn for playing. The sloped lawn makes it look like a great place for snow sledding? (BELOW 3) Relax on the back porch with its stunning views of the pool and the water. During the fall and winter, light a fire. (BELOW 4) The home also features a private dock. (BELOW 5) How amazing does the home look from the back? What a commanding estate! I can totally picture myself swimming in that pool, and sitting at the bar to the left! What do you think of the home?

NY Country Estate

http://www.sothebysrealty.com
I was mesmerized by this grand Chappaqua, NY estate when I came across it. It's spread on over 80 acres of land and features a tennis court, basketball court, pool, and much more. The home has over 20,000 square feet of living space, it was build in 2004 and has many different architectural influences. My first thought when I learned of its 20,000 square feet--who needs so much room? It's definitely not the home for a couple! (ABOVE) I really like the center motorcourt. It's not obnoxiously large, like some new constructed homes like to make them. The boxwoods and shrubbery soften the facade and add much curb appeal. I like the breezeway to the left and symmetrical Bow windows. (BELOW 1) The large infinite pool is to the left of the main house. The separate pool house makes changing and showering very convenient. The pool deck is a wonderfully designed relaxing escape. (BELOW 2) Nestled within the large oak and spruce trees is this fantastic tennis court. What a great place to exercise and get your A-game on! (BELOW 3) Directly behind the home is this gorgeous large yard. The different levels with flowers and rock wall really make the space feel right. It's such a great place to play with the kids or dogs! (BELOW 4) The back of the home is stunning. I love the center dome. The back of the home has a very Colonial Revival-Neoclassical architectural style. What do you think of this estate?

Moving In: Villa Labarba

http://www.sothebysrealty.com
How amazing is this California mansion? Well, I think it's just fab! This over 12,000 sq ft house that sits on over an acre of ocean front property is an incredible place to live. The home was built in 1997, and has many classic California design embellishments, yet still feels fresh and clean. (ABOVE) The center motorcourt is a classic feature. Love the clean, front facade as well as the boxwoods that surround the house. Every classically designed home needs a fountain. I love that the fountain is surrounded by some pink flowers.

(1) The views are the highlight of the property. Waking up and walking around such beautifully landscaped grounds would be truly amazing. I like how the water from the upper level fountain spills over into a collection of smaller fountains running toward the ocean.

(2) The back of the home is as beautiful as the front of the home. I love the hedges, and center fountain. The back of the home screams traditional, with a touch of modernity. The terrace just off the main house is the perfect place to entertain. Beautiful architecture and views of the ocean surround you!

(3) A long slide carries water from the upper level fountain to the lower level fountain. This idea is a more environmentally friendly alternative, which is always a good thing! I could see myself laying on one of those blue outdoor sofas and looking out at the ocean and sandy beaches.

(4) The property features a garden space. I recently started learning some tricks when it comes to planting and gardening. I love having a garden in the back of my home and would die for this large one that overlooks the water. What do you think of the home? Would you move in?
