Space's I'm Loving: Part XX
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's unique furnishings, accessories, and overall design

How cool is this space? Designed by owner Yvan Mispelaere in Paris is this vintage modern apartment. Each piece in this space is carefully chosen and has a voice of its own. From the chairs, to the chandelier each piece could belong in a museum. The centerpiece is very cool. It brings a bit of shimmer and shine into the space. I also love the black studded divider. It's a strong contrasting color that gives the room a bit more umpf.  Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's office desk, color, and unique pieces

When I saw this office desk my heart skipped a beat (well almost)! This desk is possibly one of the coolest desks I've seen. It's unique, and makes quite the statement. I like that the base of the desk is a bit heavier, while the countertop is so thin and light. The dark color of the walls works in this space because of the different brass fixtures and hardware, lighter desk top, floors, and other accessories. If you want to paint your walls darker, make sure that the furnishings are lighter. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's clean design, mix materials, and overall design

I could definitely see this space inside of a Cape Cod home. I love the clean design. White, stainless steal, and wood accents really make this space feel fresh. The subtle touches of glass make the space feel more open. This space proves that you don't need a huge space to build a dream kitchenDo you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's wild use of materials, accessories, and vibe

As soon as I saw this bathroom I knew it was designed by Kelly Wearstler. There's something so special about her work. It's distinct and really cannot be compared to with another designer. Only Kelly could bring such unique colors of stone together and make the space work. I love the accessories, the hand, vase, and scones are super cool and original. The sink and countertop make the space. When you're in the space, you're in a while different world. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do

On The Australian Coast
I can't tell you how much I'm loving this home. Located in Sydney and designed by architects Rolf Ockert Design is this phenomenal open concept beach front home. The architect wanted to design a home that made the owners feel like they're on vacation everyday. Personally, If I had a house like this I'd have a very difficult time getting any work done! The home is constructed of timber, and concrete, which gives the home a fresh, yet grounded look. The way in which the home is designed takes full advantage of the views and its location. (ABOVE) The front of the house has a modest clean look. The greenish painted concrete and wood sided roof blend into its surroundings. I love the stone pathway.
(1) The back of the house is completely different from the front. Gone is the simple modest look of the front, boom! The back of the home is very open using much glass. The outdoors come right into the different areas.
(2) The infinite pool is gorgeous. Words cannot describe how wonderful this backyard is. Entertain guests on the grass and set up a few tables or take a nap. I love the different plantings, the landscape feels very natural.
(3) The inside of the home uses much wood. The reason the architects decided to not have windows on the side walls at eye level is due to the neighbors close proximity. I love the open concept plan and white kitchen. The space manages to feel like it's located on the beach without trying too hard.
(4) The main level has a phenomenal ocean front view. I can picture myself cooking in the kitchen, eating at the dining room, or curling up on the couch and soaking in these views. On the right side is the kitchen counters, love how modern yet 70s inspired they are.

Today's Must Have: Aug 27, 2013

I absolutely love this Kenzo backpack. Patterns are big for fall, and this backpack falls nothing short. The great think about a backpack is that you don't have to lug it around your arm or hold it. Personally I prefer wearing a backpack than have to lug around my laptop and work papers in a briefcase. There's a coolness to wearing a backpack, a youthfulness. I'd pair this backpack with a cool skirt or a pair of jeans. A blazer with either a blouse or a collared shirt. There's so many different options to pair with the backpack. If you're going to pair the bag with a patterned skirt or dress be sure that there is something in the dress that is complementary to the bag. Like a color, pattern, anything. What do you think of the backpack?

Weekly Start Off: No 23
Happy Monday, August 26, 2013, readers! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I'm craving a trip to Italy right now. I was looking at photography for hours on Sunday and found this fantastic photograph by Tec Petaja. It took me to a different world for a bit, this is the mack daddy of architecture folks! The shot is so carefully thought out. The way in which Petaja positioned his camera really highlights the size and power of the structure. What do you think?

1. If you like Petaja's above photograph, than I suggest checking out his website. He's a wedding photographer, but takes photographs of basically everything! I'm a huge fan of his travel photographs, I'm sure you've already noticed (hehe).

2. I was on the Neiman's website searching for some cool gifts to get a friend and I came across these Italian Fornasetti Scented Candles. I'm in love! First of all, I'm a huge fan of Fornasetti furnishings and accessories. The design is super classic, yet has a modern look so these are a no brainer.

3. So I watched a little bit of the VMA's and was sort of eh about the whole thing. Not a lot of glamour, but hey it's the VMA's. My favorite look was probably that of Naya Rivera from Glee and Ellie Goulding. Which looks were your favorite?

4. I found this pretty funny post on Laughing Squid. Hot Dogs or Legs, you decide.

Wear That Space: Morocco Moderne
Hello my fabulous readers! I'm so excited to introduce my new layout for my "Wear that Space" series. I decided that the previous layout needed a little upgrade. What do you think? On to the post--This living room was featured in Elle Decor and belongs to Sam and Caitlin Dowe-Sandes. The American couple are long time residents of Marrakech. When they were decorating their home in the city's Art Deco district they infused Moroccan, French, and contemporary into the space. I love how eclectic this space is. A pair of classic portraits next to original Moroccan tiles and a contemporary coffee table, how sweet! This space feels fresh and new. Anyone notice all the alcohol in the corner? My oh my! For the fashion picks, I was inspired by the different materials that are found throughout the space. Stone floors, metal objects, leather sofas, soft fabric blankets, and pillows. In addition, I was inspired by the different patterns found in the space. Moroccan design is all about patterns. You'll also notice some yellow pieces, inspired by the flowers and red pieces, inspired by the light fixture. Would you wear that space?

Yummy Sugary Treats Organized By Color
When I saw this food series photographed by Emily Blincoe I felt like I was in heaven. My body literally shut down and I jolted to the local supermarket. Well, not quite, but a boy can dream! The Austin based photographer grouped different candies based on their color, and photographed them. Isn't this series fun? (ABOVE) I'm going for the lollipop and the watermelon candy in the center. I think I want the Air Head too!
(1) The pink is super cute. I wonder what the animal ones in the center are? Any guesses? Definitely want some Starburst.
(2) I'll take the Tangerine candies, and the lollipop. Not a huge fan of orange Tick-Tac's. Which candy is calling you?
(3) I haven't had the banana candies in such a long time! Looking at this photograph brings back my childhood.
(4) I'm craving some apple Jolly Ranchers. I wonder what type of candy the soldiers are?
(5) Well I love the color. In case you haven't noticed, blue is a BAD favorite! I'll take the Toblerone, and the Black Jack gum. Are those Blow Pops?!
(6) I really like grape flavor, so basically anything here will do. I'm reaching for the Laffy Taffy as I write!
(7) Hmm. Not a big licorice fan, but I must say that I love this composition. I've never tried Mars Planets. Are they any good?
(8) OMG. Lindt, Ferrero Rocher, Twix, Reese's, Kisses, Hershey's, and gold coins! I literally can't contain my emotions right now!
(9) Underwear lollipop, haha. I want some Tic Tac's and some pretzels. What about for you? What do you think of Emily Blincoe's series?

Moving In: Hidden Valley Estate
I've got a good one for you today folks! Located in Connecticut (surprised me too!) is this amazing 1920s historic estate designed by architect Edward C. Dean. The home was designed for a renown NY surgeon and NY socialite, oh la la! The architecture of the home is reflective of the original families love of travel and collecting artifacts. With over 275 acres of land, and over 8,000 sq ft of living space, you're sure to be comfortable here! (ABOVE) The front of this home is brilliant. How great are those towers! It's a mixture between castle and chateau--castle chateau chic! I love the stone wall and green hedges growing along it. The hedges soften the wall and home. To the far right, you'll notice a bridge that crosses over a stream and leads to the main house.
(1) A mile long private driveway leads to the main house. Two ivy towers flank the entry to the main house. Not having a gate, allows the original architecture of the home to speak. A gate would distract from the stone walls. I get a very English vibe from this photograph.
(2) The property is equally impeccable. With over 275 acres of land, this estate would make for the perfect getaway. A long walk, or a little fishing in the pond. It's a home to relax in from the hustle and bustle of city living
(3) I love the back of the home. I find it to have a different vibe from the front of the house. While the front of the home felt more like a castle, the back of the home feels more like a country, farm-type house.
(4) This seating area has got a very laid back, outdoors thing going for it. The wood furnishings look great against the stone facade. As much as I like the rustic vibe of the patio, I'd rather it be fully done in blue slate, and for the two sections to be connected. I'm guessing the owners decided to leave it in its original condition?
(5) The pool deck has a farmhouse vibe. A one bedroom guesthouse is adjacent the pool. With a property this gorgeous you're sure to get a lot of visitors! I wonder if the pool is original to the home? It sure looks it!
(6) Whenever I see such open spaces I just dream of running! It probably has to do with city living for me. The property is definitely a dream playground for the kids. I remember loving to adventure through the woods growing up. What do you think of the home? Would you move in?

Space's I'm Loving: Part XIX
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's subtle pops of color, contemporary furnishings, white walls, and unique pieces

Yes! There ARE a lot of reasons why I love this space. The subtle pops of color, the contemporary furnishings against the crisp white walls, and the uniqueness of the pieces. The space manages to feel contemporary, yet nods to things of the past. I see this space as one an artist would own. The tremendous focus to details goes unnoticed in this space. Just take a look at the dining chairs. All the same? Look again, the backs of the chairs are each a different color. I love the orange arm chair. It brightens the space and adds that brilliant pop of color. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's 60s Danish vibe, unique floor, and wrap around window treatments

This 60s Danish inspired dining space is all about bringing together vintage and modern. The clean lines of the table and chairs are seen in many different ways throughout the space such as in the floor, curtains, chandelier, and wall to wall curtains. The floor is certainly one of the many eye catchers in the space. Each tile has a border of carpet. The wall to wall window treatments soften the space and bring warmth and texture into the space. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's expressive design, and gold accents

Even though I'm not a painter, I'd love to have a studio like this in my home. You can see so much freedom of expression in the space. The paint blotched floors, the rows of paints on the floor, and the painted walls are like a piece of art. The gold accents bring richness into the space. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follows rules, just do.
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's colorful and unique pieces

I'd like to call this space cozy chic glamour (I love making up these titles)! The colorful purple sofa, pillows, rug, coffee table, and other accessories, make this space feel so inviting and energetic. It's such a happy space! The two different colored sofas are a unique decision to place in the same space, but really work. I love the lacquered coffee table, it brings a different texture and form into the space. Since the space is so long, it was broken up into a few seating areas. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.
