The Waterfront House

http://www.sothebysrealty.com
I'm so excited about today's featured house. Isn't it just gorgeous? The home is located in Lloyd Harbor, New York and boasts over 15,000 square feet of living space on more than 3 acres of waterfront property. Each part of the property is meticulously landscaped and feels like a wonderful escape. With 6 bedrooms and 8 eight bathrooms it's definitely a home for a large family, in addition, the property features a detached guest house. (ABOVE) A long private driveway takes you to the front motorcourt. As you approach the front motorcourt you are surrounded by greenery and water to the left. The all-white facade gives it that refreshing feel. The home's architecture has many colonial influences. (BELOW 1) A private courtyard for you to relax. A beautiful stone floor, flowers, and tall trees make you feel as though you are in a different world. (BELOW 2) The side-yard features tall hedges for privacy as well as plenty of lawn for playing. The sloped lawn makes it look like a great place for snow sledding? (BELOW 3) Relax on the back porch with its stunning views of the pool and the water. During the fall and winter, light a fire. (BELOW 4) The home also features a private dock. (BELOW 5) How amazing does the home look from the back? What a commanding estate! I can totally picture myself swimming in that pool, and sitting at the bar to the left! What do you think of the home?

Moving In: Hidden Valley Estate

http://www.sothebysrealty.com
I've got a good one for you today folks! Located in Connecticut (surprised me too!) is this amazing 1920s historic estate designed by architect Edward C. Dean. The home was designed for a renown NY surgeon and NY socialite, oh la la! The architecture of the home is reflective of the original families love of travel and collecting artifacts. With over 275 acres of land, and over 8,000 sq ft of living space, you're sure to be comfortable here! (ABOVE) The front of this home is brilliant. How great are those towers! It's a mixture between castle and chateau--castle chateau chic! I love the stone wall and green hedges growing along it. The hedges soften the wall and home. To the far right, you'll notice a bridge that crosses over a stream and leads to the main house.

(1) A mile long private driveway leads to the main house. Two ivy towers flank the entry to the main house. Not having a gate, allows the original architecture of the home to speak. A gate would distract from the stone walls. I get a very English vibe from this photograph.

(2) The property is equally impeccable. With over 275 acres of land, this estate would make for the perfect getaway. A long walk, or a little fishing in the pond. It's a home to relax in from the hustle and bustle of city living.

(3) I love the back of the home. I find it to have a different vibe from the front of the house. While the front of the home felt more like a castle, the back of the home feels more like a country, farm-type house.

(4) This seating area has got a very laid back, outdoors thing going for it. The wood furnishings look great against the stone facade. As much as I like the rustic vibe of the patio, I'd rather it be fully done in blue slate, and for the two sections to be connected. I'm guessing the owners decided to leave it in its original condition?

(5) The pool deck has a farmhouse vibe. A one bedroom guesthouse is adjacent the pool. With a property this gorgeous you're sure to get a lot of visitors! I wonder if the pool is original to the home? It sure looks it!

(6) Whenever I see such open spaces I just dream of running! It probably has to do with city living for me. The property is definitely a dream playground for the kids. I remember loving to adventure through the woods growing up. What do you think of the home? Would you move in?

Elegant Stone Manor

http://www.sothebysrealty.com
I love this home located in Virginia! It's set on over five acres of a wonderfully landscaped grounds. With six bedrooms and over 20,000 square feet of living space, you'll surely find privacy. (ABOVE) A great stone wall and iron gate protect the home and add curb appeal. From the street the home looks fabulous! (BELOW 1) As you pull around the driveway you'll be greeted by shrubs, a manicured lawn, and stone facade. It all looks so perfect! (BELOW 2) This courtyard joins the two separate wings. I love the hedges, trees, and flowers. It looks like such a wonderful place to relax. (BELOW 3) The backyard patio is a great place to dine and relax. Isn't the stone floor beautiful? (BELOW 4) The pool feels like it's apart of the main property, yet feels private. You can relax under the trellis or get some sun on the pool deck. (BELOW 5) A private garden leads you into an open backyard perfect for playing with the kids or the family dog! (BELOW 6) I love wide open lawns like this. Having a dog, I can just picture a good chase back here! What do you think of the home?
