Space's I'm Loving: Part XVII

http://www.elledecor.com
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's open layout, modern design, and unique furnishings

I'd have to say this is one of the most beautiful beach house kitchens I've seen. What I like about this kitchen is the open layout. A beach home should feel open, and allow for unobstructed views of the outdoors. The kitchen features several different seating arrangements for added functionality. I spend most of my time entertaining in the kitchen, so this design would be the right fit for me. The modern furniture keeps things looking clean. I live the mix in woods, and stones. The two hand bar stools are the focal point of the bar. I'm not the biggest fan of the lighting, it needs more of a pop. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's mix in furnishings

This space is the definition of eclectic design. The space features pieces from all different periods. When you have a space that has so many different styles the walls should be painted white. You don't want the space to feel too busy or the design to conflict. One piece that I'm not a fan of is the square pedestal to the left. As the bottom of the pedestal the paint is beginning to peel off. It detracts from the space, and makes it appear dirty. I also would have liked to have seen the brown armchair to the left being reupholstered and painted at the bottom. Do you like the space? What would you change or improve? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's bedding and area rug, and the idea of painting the space one color

Aside from the headboard, the bedding is the focal point of the space. It's bright, features a strong graphic pattern, and ties the different colors found in the space together. What I like about the bedding is that it brings a Moroccan flair into the space. The area rug is wonderful. I love all the different shapes, and prints. Painting a space one color sets a base for space's that want color, but also want to feature bolder pieces. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's modern design, area rug, and darker floors

Not having upper cabinets is something that is becoming more and more popular in contemporary homes. By not having upper cabinets, one eliminates clutter, and the space opens up. The area rug brings some much need color and texture into the space and softens the modern look of the kitchen. Because the walls and most of the pieces are white, a darker floor really makes a statement. It also makes the cabinetry stand out. If the floors were stained a lighter color, the white cabinets would not be such a focus. Do you see yourself cooking here? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Space's I'm Loving: Part X

http://www.elledecor.com
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's bedding and accessories

Model Tamzin Greenhill designed her Manhattan Bedroom to reflect her personality.  I love the bedding, it's graphic and energetic without being an eyesore. I always love simple white sheets, with a great blanket. The pillows tie it all together. The accessories are great. I love the globe lamps and porthole mirrors. They're young, fresh and eclectic. What do you think of the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's bohemian and eclectic feel

This Living Room is perfect for the cosmopolitan person. The space engulfs different periods and styles. I love the Vistosi chandelier it adds a little color and some Italian flair. I also love the chair to the right under the window. The soft blue color and brass finish is gorgeous. Since the space is painted white, it's important to have the furnishings bring in the color. What do you think of the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's natural stone bathtub

The bathtub is the focal point of any Bathroom. This bathtub definitely impresses. I've never quite seen one like this. It's very natural looking. It honestly looks like a slap of stone that was rounded out. This bathtub makes the space. I'm not a fan of the sinks and cabinetry. It looks cheap looking, and doesn't have any personality. What do you think of the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's open feel layout, windows, and finishes

The center island in this Kitchen is wonderful. The light stone countertop, and brass finishes are simple and elegant. The brass, white, and blue make this space feel open. The windows also help to make the space feel open. Their large size add much light and brings the outdoors in. What do you think of the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Finding The Right Bedding Is Essential

http://www.elledecor.com/image/tid/5957?pause=0&page=1
http://www.kellywearstler.com/
Finding The right bedding is essential. When you walk into a bedroom the focal point is the bed. If the bed is not well made then the bedroom is not successful. Don’t be afraid to mix and match sets. If you buy one set of sheets from Crate and Barrel and the other set from Bloomingdale's and the colors create a story then use them both on the same bed. Add pillows. The more you add the cozier the bedroom feels. Throw blankets are also essential for any bed. Throw blankets add texture to a bedroom. You can add as little or as much to your bed as you want. Don’t follow rules, just do.

Featured Post: Wear That Astier Room

http://lookbook.elledecor.com
Yesterday, I had the honor of being featured on Shop Talk! Here is the post in case you missed it... This space featured in Elle Decor is full of brilliant retro pieces, color, and patterns. Spaces with a vintage flair hold a great place in my heart and this space does not fall short! The velvet headboard sets the tone with it's deep color and unique shape. Instead of using boring bedding, designer Jackie Astier choose to use a bright color with a great paisley type print, very late 60s! The stone coffee table is the perfect contrast to the plush area rug. The legs bring a fabulous shine into the space! What do you think of the space? When I saw this space I thought to myself...What are some great dresses that have a cool retro inspired print that you can wear?

The Issa Sleeveless dress to the left has a great abstract intarsia pattern. The flared skirt is very retro, but still modern. It's a great casual chic dress for the fall. The Diane von Furstenberg dress to the right features an oversized houndstooth pattern. It's a clean cut retro knit dress to keep you warm and stylish for the fall. Both these dress are modern, yet boast an awesome retro cut and print. A great dress needs some fabulous accessories...These accessories are perfect as they can be mixed and matched with either dress. The Frieda & Nellie necklace is definitely a must-have! It's very classic with the crystals but still retro with its woven design and cool colors. Which pieces is your favorite?
