A Night In The City: Paris

http://crispme.com/20-beautiful-france-nature-photographs/
Paris is one of the most glamorous cities in the world. Paris is well known for its high-end fashion, great food, and beautiful architecture. It's a city for everyone, where you will most surely find something that suits your fancy. What are your thoughts about the iconic city?

Where To Eat: Le Meurice
Le Meurice is a highly regarded restaurant in the heart of the city. From the moment you walk in to its classically appointed interiors you known you're in for a treat! Ranked as one of the top five restaurants in Paris, Le Meurice will not disappoint.

Where To Stay: Hotel Plaza Athenee
What I love about the Hotel Plaza Athenee is its traditional Parisian elegance. It's not a modern decorated hotel, it's very true to 18th century French decor. I find that when I am in another country, I want to experience their taste. The Hotel Plaza Athenee is all about luxury, and with its prime location and five star rating you will be nothing but impressed.

The Fashion: This Parisian-inspired outfit is all about 60s influences. I am a huge fan of the Kelly Wearstler top, to me it resembles Parisian architecture. What are your thoughts? The vintage Chanel clutch was a no brainer. I love its deep color and its classic elegance. Chanel is the French brand to buy. With this outfit, it's an absolute must. Which pieces are your favorite?

Colonnes de Buren Installation

http://somethingsighted.blogspot.com
The "Colonnes de Buren" is an installation in the courtyard of the Palais Royal in Paris, France. The installation was designed by Daniel Buren in 1986. It is constructed of black and white marble. In 1985, the French Ministry of Culture had the installation commissioned to take the place of a parking lot. In my opinion, this is much more attractive to look at than a parking lot! Shortly after the installation was completed however, a few people begged to differ and wanted to installation to be dismantled. (ABOVE) Many different sized black and white marble columns are seen creating a pattern in the courtyard. The work which is 3000 square yards consists of 260 columns. What I love is the contrast between the modern architecture of the installation and the classic architecture of the palace behind it. (BELOW 1) The columns here rise from shortest to tallest. It's a cool photographic composition. (BELOW 2) A view of the same composition at night. At night the columns are beautifully lit up. It must be so romantic walking through the courtyard. I love the symmetry of this photographic. (BELOW 3) A top down view of the installation. From this view you can really see the pattern that the columns form. What do you think of the "Colonnes de Buren" installation

Weekly Start Off: No 5

http://pinterest.com
Happy Wednesday, January 2, 2013 readers! I hope everyone had a fantastic New Years! Isn't this look photographed in Paris, France absolutely divine? It's casual, but still classic. A great bold colored top, skinny jeans, and a cream colored pair of loafers give it that European flair. I love how she mixes a classic shoe with a pair of jeans, so much fun! What do you think of the look? How was everyone's New Years? Please, do share!

1. Speaking of sharing...My New Years was full of excitement. I was invited over to my cousin's house for a great New Years party. We enjoyed lobster, and a few chicken dishes. The desserts were amazing. From chocolate cakes to cheesecakes to cupcakes, my eyes were watering from all the excitement. I love this dessert stand, what a clever and great design. When the clock struck 12, we rung in the New Year with a bottle of champagne! It's always so much fun to spend time with those you love to welcome in the New Year. I'm in the process of thinking about my New Years resolution. With so much that I want to do, It's difficult to narrow down the choice's. What's your New Years resolution?

2. One of my New Years resolutions is to finally give my bedroom some much needed sprucing up. I want my bedroom to feel calm and relaxing, but also be full of patterns, and great vintage furniture. It's going to be difficult to find the right pieces to give me that feel. If fixing up your bedroom is something you're looking to do as well, then I suggest checking out Converso. They have a cool mix of furniture. If you're into vintage furniture you'll be in heaven!

3. I found a few great pieces to start you off on the right foot for this spring. These pair of jeans, are similar to the ones above. They have a light wash and can be mixed and matched with a variety of tops and shoes. I love this necklace. It's so fresh and would look great with a pair of jeans and a T-shirt or a formal dress. Shopbop.com is taking an extra 20% off all sale items for the next three days, so I suggest heading over there to pick up a few pieces.

Happy Monday, February 4, 2013 readers! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! The spring inspired look above is photographed in Paris, France. Isn't it just awesome? What I love about this outfit is all the mix of patterns, colors, and cuts. Each piece is very different, but collectively the look works. The top's high color is very European and looks great on a longer neck. What I love about the jacket is the solid color and cropped sleeves, the cropped sleeves let the top come through. The cropped look follows through into the pants.

1. I have a few great pieces for you to check out. I love this dress, it comes in both mint and white. The dress is very light, and would look great with a pair of sandals, or wedges. The maxi dress cover up, is perfect for a day at the beach. If you're looking for a bright pop of color, then this blouse is just for you. These shoes are amazing. If you want a shoe with great pops of color and a metallic gold heel then I have a shoe for you!

2. I have a few Valentine's day picks for you. This iPhone case features a smiling pair of lips. These Kate Spade pair of earrings are affordable and will give your look a little shine for that romantic dinner. Nordstrom has a great list of gifts for under $100.

3. In the mood for some Spring Rolls? I tried this recipe on Friday for dinner and loved it. Make them and let me know what you think!
