Designer Tennis Balls

I really like this series title "Open" by Ana Dominguez for the Mutua Madrid Open. Ten national fashion designers collaborated in customizing a tennis ball. I wish I knew which designer customized which tennis ball. The bedazzled tennis balls look like little sculptures. (ABOVE) A harry tennis ball? Kinda cool. (BELOW 1) A little pouch for your tennis ball? (BELOW 2) A crystal tennis ball. Looks like something that should be in your china cabinet. (BELOW 3) I like the beads on this tennis ball. I could see the colors of the beads being using as wall paint, or the color of accessories in a space. What do you think of the series?

The Beautiful Villa Lauriston

Villa Lauriston was designed by noted architect George Schastey in the early 1920s, in northern California. Situated on over 28 acres of beautifully manicured grounds, the villa is a crown jewel in the Florentine architectural style. (ABOVE) A vintage photograph of the villa shortly after its completion. The villa has a stately presence as it sits on higher ground overlooking the pool and property. (BELOW 1) An aerial view of the property shows the multitude of trees surrounding the home. I can just image how clean and wonderful the air must be! (BELOW 2) After driving along a private lane, you arrive to a piece of architectural heaven. (BELOW 3) The backyard features a lovely organic pond. Though I can picture myself relaxing by the pond, I think I'll save the swimming for the pool. (BELOW 4) A tennis court is set overlooking the surrounding mountains and vineyards. I could definitely wake up to a game of tennis here. (BELOW 5) A brick border is the perfect touch to define this wonderful pool. Around the pool are redwoods. (BELOW 6) A photograph taken facing the rear of the home from the pool deck. Moving In: Estate Nestled In The Park

This gorgeous stone country estate is located in Greenwich, Connecticut. The 9,600 square foot residence is situated on over 10 acres of beautifully manicured grounds. The home truly feels like it's nestled in a park. (ABOVE) From the street all you can see is a gorgeous iron gate and behind it, a park like setting. The property is exactly what a country estate should feel like, secluded! (BELOW 1) Once you've made your way through the gate and park, you are greeted by a fantastic residence. The home is designed like a ranch, a single level home that allows it to blend into its surroundings. Though I'm not a huge fan of this architectural style, I see it's purpose. (BELOW 2) A central courtyard. I really like the ivy growing along the exterior. The slate floors are wonderful. (BELOW 3) An aerial view of the pool, and tennis court. I can definitely see myself waking up to a game of tennis and taking a dip in the pool. (BELOW 4) An aerial view of the home. Here you can really see how well the property is actually maintained. Every square inch of the property is utilized and serves a purpose. What do you think of the estate? Would you move in?

NY Country Estate

I was mesmerized by this grand Chappaqua, NY estate when I came across it. It's spread on over 80 acres of land and features a tennis court, basketball court, pool, and much more. The home has over 20,000 square feet of living space, it was build in 2004 and has many different architectural influences. My first thought when I learned of its 20,000 square feet--who needs so much room? It's definitely not the home for a couple! (ABOVE) I really like the center motorcourt. It's not obnoxiously large, like some new constructed homes like to make them. The boxwoods and shrubbery soften the facade and add much curb appeal. I like the breezeway to the left and symmetrical Bow windows. (BELOW 1) The large infinite pool is to the left of the main house. The separate pool house makes changing and showering very convenient. The pool deck is a wonderfully designed relaxing escape. (BELOW 2) Nestled within the large oak and spruce trees is this fantastic tennis court. What a great place to exercise and get your A-game on! (BELOW 3) Directly behind the home is this gorgeous large yard. The different levels with flowers and rock wall really make the space feel right. It's such a great place to play with the kids or dogs! (BELOW 4) The back of the home is stunning. I love the center dome. The back of the home has a very Colonial Revival-Neoclassical architectural style. What do you think of this estate?

Carven 2012

Photographer Viviane Sassen captures the true spirit of Carven's 2012 Spring/Summer campaign by using a simple tennis court as the backdrop for the company's bold selection of colors and prints. (ABOVE) I love the bold color of this yellow Carven dress. The pleating is divine, pair the dress with a great espadrille or wedge and you're ready to go! (BELOW 1) Here, the yellow dress looks brilliant against the deep red tennis court backdrop. Pair the look with a pink wedge for an extra splash of color. I love the black lace detailing of the blue dress, so elegant. (BELOW 2) Both the dress and photography are quite stunning here. Two bodies and only one head! (BELOW 3) This Carven dress is perfect for a spring picnic, it's light and very elegant, however, not too formal. What do you think?

Greenwich Classic Estate

Located in Greenwich, Connecticut is this stunning 1932 English Manor. The home is situated on 1.5 acres of wonderfully manicured lawns and gardens. (ABOVE) I love the symmetry of the home, and landscaping. It has a nice balance, but it's not perfect. The hedges and color from the trees look beautiful against the home. (BELOW 1) The windows of the home are gorgeous. They're original and have much character. The backyard is perfectly maintained. The grass looks beautiful. I love the stone work that separates the lawn from the pool. Tucked to the left of the home is a great sitting area. (BELOW 2) The pool is a perfect rectangle. Personally, I think a rectangular pool is way more stylish than a curved pool. From the pool deck, the home looks more like a cottage, than an English inspired mansion. (BELOW 3) In addition to a pool, the property features a tennis court. The tennis court is fenced in by a wonderful hedge. The slate walkway to the right leads to the pool. Moving In: Historic Italian Mansion

How gorgeous is this Italian mansion located in Lucca, Italy? The home has eight bedrooms and nine full bathrooms. It was built in the XVI century, and has proven to stand the test of time with many of its original details still in tact.(ABOVE) Trees line the driveway and an iron gate marks the entrance. I love the rugged look of this driveway. You don't expect there to be anything beautiful on the other side. There's an aura of mystery.

(1) The home is very fitting for it's location and the period it was built in. I love the home's symmetry as well as it's green shutters. In the center of the facade is a large medallion, really adds to the character of the architecture. An added bonus is the large property.

(2) Terra Cotta pots line the home. I love the energy that these flowers bring. The yellow stucco works well with the shutters and stone window and door frames. This home looks like it belongs in a storybook, it's too perfect.

(3) The property is stunning. I love the greenery. The greenery softens the home and puts the home in a dreamy setting. Without the greenery the property would not have the same impact.

(4) The pool is an added bonus. I'm guessing that the structure off the pool can be used as a pool house or a guest house. What I like about the pool area is the grass section and low shrubbery. By keeping shrubbery low, the pool receives direct sunlight.

(5) Adjacent the pool is a tennis court. Yes it could use a bit updating, but nonetheless it's got great bones. I like having a red tennis court, I almost like it more than a green court. What do you think of the home and its property? Would you move in?

Classic Georgian With 360 Degree Views

This gorgeous Georgian estate located in California has a stunning view of the surrounding mountains and Lake Sherwood. (ABOVE) A center motor court is the perfect feature for a home of this scale. Just picture--beautiful black cars pulling up and glamorous guests being escorted inside! The white moldings and plantings around the fountain and home soften the solid materials. (BELOW 1) The rear of the home features an upper and lower level balcony. I can just imagine lounging on the second floor balcony admiring the pool, landscaped grounds and views. (BELOW 2) The tennis court is wonderfully maintained and positioned to soak in the views. I'd be more focused on the views than the actual game! The high hedges provide protection from the street on the other side. (BELOW 3) Along with the pool and tennis court, the estate also has a gazebo. What a great place to hang out and relax. To the far right is a pool house, perfect for keeping the home clean from dripping swimmers! (BELOW 4) A Birdseye view of the estate shows the wonderful grounds and surrounding areas. Even though the homes are in a gated community, each home has a slightly different touch. What do you think of the estate?
