Moving In: Villa Labarba

How amazing is this California mansion? Well, I think it's just fab! This over 12,000 sq ft house that sits on over an acre of ocean front property is an incredible place to live. The home was built in 1997, and has many classic California design embellishments, yet still feels fresh and clean. (ABOVE) The center motorcourt is a classic feature. Love the clean, front facade as well as the boxwoods that surround the house. Every classically designed home needs a fountain. I love that the fountain is surrounded by some pink flowers.

(1) The views are the highlight of the property. Waking up and walking around such beautifully landscaped grounds would be truly amazing. I like how the water from the upper level fountain spills over into a collection of smaller fountains running toward the ocean.

(2) The back of the home is as beautiful as the front of the home. I love the hedges, and center fountain. The back of the home screams traditional, with a touch of modernity. The terrace just off the main house is the perfect place to entertain. Beautiful architecture and views of the ocean surround you!

(3) A long slide carries water from the upper level fountain to the lower level fountain. This idea is a more environmentally friendly alternative, which is always a good thing! I could see myself laying on one of those blue outdoor sofas and looking out at the ocean and sandy beaches.

Classic Spanish Style House

Palm Beach, Florida is known for its grand homes that are designed in the Spanish architectural style. However, most of these homes are newly built, and lack the character of older homes. This amazing 1919 classic Spanish-style home was designed by architect Addison Mizner. The 10-bedroom villa is located on over 1.5 acres of land and has breathtaking ocean front views. (ABOVE) The back of the house features a large lawn, and patio. The lawn faces the ocean, so it's a great place to relax, play, and soak in the view. The architecture looks so impressive. I love the balconies and Terra Cotta roof. White homes always look so fresh. (BELOW 1) The property is located rather close to the ocean. Don't worry about it being destroyed in a hurricane though, it has already stood here for over 90 years. (BELOW 2) The crystal clear water of South Florida is breathtaking. A walk along the shore sounds really good right now.

Hotel Design: Viceroy Anguilla

The Viceroy Anguilla is located in West End, Anguilla. The property features fantastic living spaces as well as beautifully manicured grounds and great places to eat, designed by Kelly Wearstler. (ABOVE) The architecture of the hotel is quite modern. It's clean and smooth like that of the sand. With just a few short steps from the water, it's the ideal location for the beach bum! (BELOW 1) The hotel features breezeways that one passes through to get to their suite. The tiling is modern, and gorgeous! I love the armchairs, they have that beach feel, but are very chic. (BELOW 2) The infinite pool is a phenomenal place to kick back and relax. It's definitely a great place to swim laps or sip a drink and look at the views! (BELOW 3) One can relax on a lounge chair or one can have a seat at one of the seating areas and read a great book. The seating areas or wonderfully designed. (BELOW 4) Half Shell Bar is a great place to enjoy a drink or a quick meal. With fantastic views of the sea and cliffs, it's a must visit while at the hotel. (BELOW 5) The Ocean Villa's are detached large size homes. The Ocean Villa's are three and four bedrooms. The Living Room of the villa is bright with floor to ceiling windows. Colors Of The Waves

Photographer David Orias's ocean images are shot just off the California coast. To achieve such wonderful depth and color, Orias relies on long shutter speeds and camera motion. He shot these photographs at dawn. Orias's images are photographed to show the world in a way our eyes cannot see. He's photographs have a painterly quality. (ABOVE) The bright orange, and yellow tones of the wave are phenomenal. The rich blue looks so luxurious. (BELOW 1) This wave looks like it's on fire. The bright yellow and orange pop out at you. (BELOW 2) Here the colors are more subdued. You can see a slight green undertone. This photograph is the ultimate balance of hot and cold. What do you think of Orias's photographs?

Going Modern By The Sea

Designed by the Vértice Arquitectos in Peru, this modern beach home is set to take in 180 degree views of the Pacific Ocean. The way the home is set into the rock is quite remarkable. I find the home to work with the rock, rather then against it. (ABOVE) For example, if you look at the pool to the left, it dips down as to take the shape of the rock. I also find the home's unique shapes and angles to mirror those of the rock it sits upon. (BELOW) I love the white concrete material used to construct the home. It's elegant and allows the home's architecture to be the focal point. What fascinates you about this modern beach home?

Bay Of Fires

These amazing photographs of the Bay of Fires, Australia by Sean Fennessy has me really saddened that summer is coming to an end. I'm definitely going to miss hoping in my car and driving to the shore to soak in some sea and sun. (ABOVE) When I'm on the beach, I love to collect seashells. Each shell is unique, so it's fun to exam each shell's color, and shape. (BELOW 1) Beaches that allow you to go far out and still be able to stand are great. Though I love the strong waves for surfing, the gentle wave and shallow waters are perfect for a relaxing getaway. (BELOW 2) Swimming with the dolphins is at the top of my list when I'm away. Rent yourself some snorkeling gear and swim with the dolphins in the ocean, don't swim with them at a water park as it's a far less enjoyable experience. (BELOW 3) Long walks on the beach are a great relaxer and exercise. Isn't this shot beautiful? No major hotels along the coast, how refreshing! (BELOW 4) This photograph is beautiful. I would love to have a beach home with a view like this! The rocky landscape and clear blue waters are so dreamy! (BELOW 5) This beach home tucked away into the trees is so cute! It's private and easily accessible to the beach. (BELOW 6) Those boulders are huge! I'd love to lay a towel on one of the boulders and just watch the waves come crashing! (BELOW 7) This boulder looks like a sculpture. It's amazing how much natural art is around us. I'm kind of curious as to how it got there? It looks kind of lonely! (BELOW 8) Drawing in the sand is something I used to do as a kid (and still do)! The sand in this photograph looks so clean and soft. No footprints! The Perfect Hamptons Getaway

This beautiful home located in Southampton, NY is set on three acres of wonderfully manicured grounds. It's the quintessential Hamptons-style property with wood siding and clean white moldings. (ABOVE) I am a huge fan of landscape architect, Ed Hollander's work. The property feels fresh and is not overly done. (BELOW 1) The front of the home is nestled between flowers and shrubs. Despite the home's over eleven thousand square feet of space, it still feels cozy. One of my favorite parts of the home is its front porch. Even though it's not huge, it still serves as a relaxing space that can be wonderfully decorated and enjoyed. (BELOW 2) The backyard makes up for the home's lack of ocean front views. The lawn is absolutely divine as it's perfect for hosting a party. All it needs is a few well decorated dining tables, and your good to go! (BELOW 3) The swimming pool does not fall short of my expectations. I can just image cooling off after a hard day of work under the waterfall! And with all the shrubs behind it, the neighbors are the least of my concerns. (BELOW 4) After a dip in the pool, the pool house is your next stop. To the right of the pool house is a tree-shaded patio. How beautiful! This Living Room featured in Elle Decor, would look great in the above Hamptons home. Interiors in the Hamptons are often very light with a burst of color. I love the blue pillows and lamps. They add the right amount of color and are definitely the right choice for this Hamptons-inspired space. I also love the leopard print stools! They add an unexpected touch to the space, and every space needs something unexpected. What do you love about this space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

On The Australian Coast

I can't tell you how much I'm loving this home. Located in Sydney and designed by architects Rolf Ockert Design is this phenomenal open concept beach front home. The architect wanted to design a home that made the owners feel like they're on vacation everyday. Personally, If I had a house like this I'd have a very difficult time getting any work done! The home is constructed of timber, and concrete, which gives the home a fresh, yet grounded look. The way in which the home is designed takes full advantage of the views and its location. (ABOVE) The front of the house has a modest clean look. The greenish painted concrete and wood sided roof blend into its surroundings. I love the stone pathway.

(1) The back of the house is completely different from the front. Gone is the simple modest look of the front, boom! The back of the home is very open using much glass. The outdoors come right into the different areas.

(2) The infinite pool is gorgeous. Words cannot describe how wonderful this backyard is. Entertain guests on the grass and set up a few tables or take a nap. I love the different plantings, the landscape feels very natural.

(3) The inside of the home uses much wood. The reason the architects decided to not have windows on the side walls at eye level is due to the neighbors close proximity. I love the open concept plan and white kitchen. The space manages to feel like it's located on the beach without trying too hard.

(4) The main level has a phenomenal ocean front view. I can picture myself cooking in the kitchen, eating at the dining room, or curling up on the couch and soaking in these views. On the right side is the kitchen counters, love how modern yet 70s inspired they are.
