Space's I'm Loving: Part XXI

http://www.elledecor.com
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's stone and tile work, large mirrors, hardware, and overall design

Kelly Wearstler had a field day designing Cameron Diaz's apartment. Diaz's bathroom feels very much like a Wearstler design, however, it also plays to a more simple bathroom look (simple for Kelly Wearstler)! The stone and tile work is fantastic. The tile glistens, reflecting the light. The stone countertops, are a great contrast against the tile, brass fixtures, and finishes. The lacquered vanity is simple allowing the hardware to speak. I love the idea of exaggerating the hardware as a result the vanity looks like a sculpture. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's unique furniture, and accessories

This space is all about the dining table and chairs. The dining table and chairs grounds the space, and make a statement. The moments I saw this space my eyes went directly to the chairs. The chairs almost look like two toothpicks holding a seat. The accessories in the space are very minimal. A simple chandelier, a few cowhide area rugs and a modern painting bring a little character, but don't take away for the dining table and chairs. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's green cabinetry, brass backsplash, accessories and overall design

If you guessed that this space also belonged to Cameron Diaz, than you got it (you won no prize, though)! Kelly Wearstler's kitchen design is very unique, tasteful and glamorous! The green cabinetry definitely makes a statement, and is extremely unique. I love the risk. The brass backsplash is modern, and looks like liquid. I love how the brass continues into the hardware, and cabinet moldings. The light fixture is to die for! Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's furnishings, and accessories

Sometimes a vignette is just as beautiful to look at as a fully designed space. The console table is low to the ground, almost looks like a coffee table, I really like this exaggeration in height. The accessories are the stars here. From Aladdin bowels, to gnomes, to a uniquely shaped vase with feather, to a great 70s Italian chandelier, the pieces in this space are out of the box and very imaginative. Is it me or does the mirror look like a protrudes from the wall? Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Space's I'm Loving: Part XXIV

http://www.mybestdecor.com
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's brick tile walls, stainless steel hardware, and use of wood

This kitchen is the perfect mix of warmth and modern. Often times, a modern space can feel cold and uninviting. By using wood for the kitchen island, and floors, the kitchen feels inviting. The stainless steel hardware is my favorite element in this space. The handles have a noticeable weight to them, and the light bounces beautifully off them. Rather than having a generic tiled backdrop and upper cabinets, the designer of this space used a brick tile and forwent the upper cabinets. This aids in the modernity of the space. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's vanity, use of marble and glass

I could see this bathroom in my home! Couldn't you? This bathroom is all about that modern-vintage looking vanity. The clean lines, marble finish, and design is the perfect example of 70s-80s design. The use of marble in this space is shear perfection. The marble finish highlights its movement. The bathroom in my home stretches from the sink to the ceiling. Having a large mirror is perfect for getting ready and making the space appear larger. By dividing the mirror into sections it doesn't feel as overwhelming. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's vintage furniture and overall design

This space could fit right into a home located in the mountains or an apartment in New York City. The wood paneled walls give this effect. The furniture in this space falls on the more modern side. It' simple and functional. My favorite piece in this space is the bar. The circular shape and gold legs are very retro. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's use of color, and light fixture

This bright colored space have so much energy and life. I love the use of color in this space. It makes the space feel incredibly inviting and fun to be in. Through I'm not a fan of the sofa, I do like the armchairs. In a space like this a unique shaped sofa, something a bit more unique would be the perfect piece. The light fixture in this space calls all the attention. I love its unique design. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Today's Must Have: June 7, 2013

I absolutely love this Versus clutch. It's a piece that can be matched with many different looks. The silver toned hardware keeps the clutch looking fresh, it's the perfect piece for summer. The multicolored chain keeps things youthful, and not too serious. I see this clutch paired with a bright yellow summer dress. Even though this clutch can be paired with any colored dress, I'd say it's your best bet to choose an outfit that's the color of the clutches chain. What do you think of the clutch?

Today's Must Have: Jan 4, 2013

How gorgeous is this Marni Perforated Tote? The tote is made out of black leather and features gold-tone hardware. Circles are punched through the black leather to reveal green and white leather accents. This tote is such a great accessory to a casual look with jeans. It'll give your look that cool feel and definitely will turn heads. Marni Edition is an extension to the Marni brand. Marni Edition is all about cool separates that can be mixed and matched. What do you think?

Featured Post: Fashion Meets Design

http://www.elledecor.com
Yesterday, I had the honor of being featured on Belle Maison with this post. Here is the post in case you missed it... This space featured in Elle Decor and designed by the lovely Kelly Wearstler has a brilliant mix of stones, metals, and colors. What makes this kitchen so fantastic is that it doesn't look like the typical kitchen. Wearstler used unconventional materials to give the kitchen a glamorous, stylish look. I love how Wearstler used both lighter and darker tones throughout the space. What do you think of the space? When I saw this space I thought to myself...What are some great pieces that carry a similar vibe...

The Isabel Marant dress really captures the whole space. It has a great texture and really strong color, perfect for fall. The Fallon necklace is the perfect amount of glamour and shine to any look. In addition, the necklace has those lighter and darker tones as does the space. The Derek Lam skirt has that great retro, funky flare that is seen in Kelly Wearstler spaces. Which piece is your favorite? Thanks Julie for having me!

Today's Must Have: May 29, 2013

How stylish are these Lanvin Heels? These shoes really play with a lot of different shapes, hardware, and materials. The curved heel, exposed screws on the back, and snakeskin look, really make these shoes stand out from a crowd. I was immediately drawn to the shoe when I saw the heel, definitely an original design. When I began to look closer I was impressed by the details. These shoes are a stark contrast with Lanvin's spring/ summer 2013 collection. I see these shoes paired with a pair of dark slim fit pants. What do you think of the pumps?

Fashion Meets Design: Classic + Retro Mix

The street style outfit, and Office inspired both the fashion and design picks. The office is very retro, but has classic elements. The rug, doors, and flooring are very classic. The design picks reflect both the retro and classic mix of the office. The street style outfit reflects the space. For the fashion picks, I played with a classic fit with pattern and solid color. A patterned top that reflects both the street style outfit and painting. The blue sandals reflect the colors from the painting.

The street style outfit, and Living Room inspired both the fashion and design picks. The Living Room's architecture is very classic, I love the moldings and the furnishings are very retro. The red coffee table adds that punch of color. For the design picks, I choose pieces that are featured in the space. For the fashion picks, I choose patterns, and colors that are found in both the street style outfit and space. The sunglasses that the model is wearing sort of remind me of the Vistosi scones in the space!

The street style outfit, and Dining Room inspired both the fashion and design picks. The Dining Room is simple and retro. I absolutely love the area rug. It looks like stone. I also love the built in shelving. The sculptural glass bowl in the design picks, resemble the architecture of the shelving. For the fashion picks, I tried to pick up the different patterns and colors from the space and street style look. The dress features a fantastic beaded, center design. This design mirrors the painting hanging in the space. The shirt reflects the fantastic area rug.

Space's I'm Loving: Part XX

http://www.elledecor.com
Why I Love This Space: I love this space's unique furnishings, accessories, and overall design

How cool is this space? Designed by owner Yvan Mispelaere in Paris is this vintage modern apartment. Each piece in this space is carefully chosen and has a voice of its own. From the chairs, to the chandelier each piece could belong in a museum. The centerpiece is very cool. It brings a bit of shimmer and shine into the space. I also love the black studded divider. It's a strong contrasting color that gives the room a bit more umpf.  Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's office desk, color, and unique pieces

When I saw this office desk my heart skipped a beat (well almost)! This desk is possibly one of the coolest desks I've seen. It's unique, and makes quite the statement. I like that the base of the desk is a bit heavier, while the countertop is so thin and light. The dark color of the walls works in this space because of the different brass fixtures and hardware, lighter desk top, floors, and other accessories. If you want to paint your walls darker, make sure that the furnishings are lighter. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's clean design, mix materials, and overall design

I could definitely see this space inside of a Cape Cod home. I love the clean design. White, stainless steal, and wood accents really make this space feel fresh. The subtle touches of glass make the space feel more open. This space proves that you don't need a huge space to build a dream kitchenDo you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's wild use of materials, accessories, and vibe

As soon as I saw this bathroom I knew it was designed by Kelly Wearstler. There's something so special about her work. It's distinct and really cannot be compared to with another designer. Only Kelly could bring such unique colors of stone together and make the space work. I love the accessories, the hand, vase, and scones are super cool and original. The sink and countertop make the space. When you're in the space, you're in a while different world. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Weekly Start Off: No 6

Happy Monday, January 20, 2013 readers! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I'm very excited for today's swearing in of President Obama. Every election I'm always curious to see what the first lady will be wearing. The above photographs are so cool, I just realized that the colors are very patriotic! What I like about the first photograph is the mix of patterns. Don't be afraid of mixing stripes and circles, if done correctly it'll look great. I don't even know what to say about the second photograph! Those shoes are so rad (does anyone say rad anymore)? I can safely say that I have never seen shoes like this. What do you think?

1. I found a few great fashion pieces if your looking for a little wardrobe upgrade. This dress, is a great piece for the spring. I'm a huge fan of bold prints and this one does not disappoint. If you're into metallic leather boots, then I have a treat for you, they're Marc Jacobs and they're 50% off. A plus, plus! These earrings are so beautiful. They're classic with a modern spin. Definitely a great piece for spring. Wear them for a night out.

2. If you live in an old house or apartment like I do, you may have door knobs that need a little love and care. I'm one who will always save what is old and try to restore it to its former glory. This blog post, will give you some insights to cleaning your vintage metal hardware.

3. Let's talk food--this Sunday I enjoyed a nice pancake breakfast! If you're off from work today and still enjoying your weekend, then I suggest you try this recipe. I did and I can tell you, you will not be disappointed.
