Room Spotlight: Classic White

http://www.vogue.com
Good morning and happy Monday readers! I decided to take a break from my usual "Weekly Start Off" post and do a "Room Spotlight" post. The above bedroom is owned by Ferebee Taube. It's extremely minimalist, and has many Northern European vintage pieces, such as the two arm chairs. I love rooms with lots of patterns and color, however, I feel like this space works for Taube, who is the owner of a fashion styling website. The room is a stark contrast to the vibrant and bright clothing Taube is usually seen wearing. The blanket at the foot of the bed looks so comfy! A classic dress to go with the space? Room Spotlight: Classic Glamour With A Twist

http://cabbagerose.tumblr.com/post/568821301/den-kelly-wearstlers-home

My heart melted when I found this fantastic space for this edition of Room Spotlight. Designed by Kelly Wearstler, this Family Room is classic with a twist. The two Terrazza DS 1025 sofas are by far my favorite. These 1970s sofas are functional as they can be joined. I love all the unique details in this space, such as the foot on the table, checkered box and orb vase. The two interesting funnel shaped lamps work beautifully with the checkered painting, accessories, and rug. The floor lamps next to each sofa are great for reading as they provide direct light. Normally I want to tear down wood paneling in a space, however, the wood paneling in this space works. It's clean, elegant, and adds a touch of classic glamour. Despite there being many unusual objects, each item in this space has its own voice. What do you love about this space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Room Spotlight: Traditional Yet Contemporary

http://www.rogerdaviesphotography.com/

For this edition of Room Spotlight, I have turned to Vogue Living for inspiration. Designed by Rose Anne de Pampelonne, this space is very glamourous. I like the bold floor choice Pampelonne chooses for the space. Not only does it define the room, but it is quite unexpected and makes it appear larger. The blue and white arm chairs have a great back and a unique form. The tree branch mirror is classic and a piece that I could see in my foyer. Overall this space is classic with a flare of the contemporary. You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: Eclectic Elegance

http://www.elle.es
I really love the home of Miguel Palacio. The home is located in Madrid and has fantastic views of the skyline. I decided to focus on the living area for today's "Room Spotlight" post. I'm immediately drawn by the architecture of the space. The exposed ceiling wood beams add so much character. The light wood floors are simple and set the foundation for Palacio's cool furniture and accessories. The fur rug is very fashionable and brings texture and color into the space. The ceiling fixtures are oversized and perfect for such a large space. For the size of the space there is an ample amount of seating. Over eight people could comfortably sit in the space. I like how the space is divided into three separate areas. The space has a nice flow. What do you think?

Room Spotlight: Edgy Chic

http://www.viceroyhotelsandresorts.com/miami/

This weeks Room Spotlight was designed by none other than Kelly Wearstler. I am a huge fan of the way she has designed the Club 50 Lounge at the Viceroy Hotel and Resort in Miami. The colors in this space are very energetic and together work beautifully. The Porter chairs that Kelly Wearstler uses in the space work harmoniously with the yellow chairs in the round seating areas. What gives this space a casual feel is the low seating arrangements. In addition, the low seating is a great decision due to the low ceilings. Throughout the space you will notice supporting columns, Kelly Wearstler applied an amazing green texture to the columns. The columns are a brilliant example of Louis Sullivan's Form Follows Function. Where the form of the columns serves as the green textural design and the function serves as the structural support. In the middle of the space, between two columns you will notice a blue sofa. This blue sofa breaks the colors in the space, as it adds a different tone of color. You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: A Touch Of The 70s

http://www.elledecor.com/image/tid/6659?page=0&pause=1
The drawing room of designer Peter Mikic and TV producer Sebastian Scott is full of 70s touches. I love the Sciolari chandelier's mixture of metal and glass, the two materials work beautifully together. The sofa is upholstered in velvet. I love the idea of having a large sofa in a space as each person has enough room to spread out and kick up their feet. The dark wall color and white moldings are very clean and not imposing, so I find the pattern on the rug and colorful art pieces to bring a much needed kick to the space. The midcentury French cocktail table is perfect for the space as it mirrors the shape of the sofa. What do you love about this space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Room Spotlight: Moroccan Meets Modern

http://mdesignla.com/residential/residence_8/index.html

I love this Dining Room designed by M. Design Interiors. From the red King Louis armchairs with a black and white patterned cushion, to the Moroccan accents, such as the chandelier, mirrors and painting. This space has a touch of the unexpected. In addition, the white walls and ceiling allow the accent colors to really pop. What do you love about this Dining Room? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Room Spotlight: Asian Exotic Treasures

http://www.elledecor.com
I always love seeing spaces designed by people who do lots of traveling. These spaces are always infused with a certain energy, a creativity that has no bounds. This space designed by John Robshaw has so many wonderful pieces from around the globe. The Syrian table is breathtaking. The unique detailing at the base adds so much interest to Robshaw's New York City Dining Room. The chairs have a very classic English feel to them, but also a strong Eastern influence. The one piece however, that would change the look of the space significantly is the large art piece. It ties together the space into one Exotic, well-traveled Dining Room. Each piece in this space has its own voice and tells its own story. It's so important that each piece in a space has its own voice! Which piece is your favorite? The rug, chandelier, table, what is getting your juices excited? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: Moroccan Style

http://www.elledecor.com
This Moroccan inspired Living Room is full of brilliant patterns and textures. I love the Frank Gehry Wiggle chairs and how the vintage Indian belts soften the chairs. The beautiful Beni Ourain rug, brings a strong wool texture into the space. By keeping the walls an off white color the different patterns and pieces have a voice. The African dolls that rest on the console table bring an international flair to the space as do the masks in the Dining Room. What do you love about this space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: Chic Apartment Glamour

http://www.lonny.com
The best way to describe this space in my opinion is to call it "Chic Apartment Glamour"! Though I don't know if this Living Room is actually in an apartment, it has that feel. It's cozy, quaint, and has a lot of personality in an otherwise small space. What gives this space a fresh open feel is the use of glass, Lucite, mirror, and pastel colors. The fireplace is the focal point and has a gorgeous stone frame and mantel. My favorite pieces in the space are the Lucite chairs, and area rug. The purple sofa keeps the space fun and casual. The Living Room does not feel uptight, it feels like a relaxing place to unwind in at the end of a long day. What do you think of the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: Pops of Color

http://www.architecturaldigest.com
Jamie Drake's New York City apartment is full of interesting pieces, and pops of vibrant color. Drake states that he wanted his apartment to not only reflect his urban sensibility, but also function a bit like a chic cocktail lounge. Drake's Living Room is my favorite space in the apartment. The dark floors, and off-white walls provide a blank canvas for color, and incredible design finds. The light fixture provides light, but does so without obstructing the view. The fixture is from Artemide. The Friedeberg chair, low chair, and the Drake cocktail coffee table are my favorite pieces in the space. They have that 1960s flair I love. The gold leafed standing lamps add a little bit of shine and glamour. The bookshelves not only provide the space with great storage, but also serve as a room divider. What do you think of the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: Rustic Beachy Chic

http://www.elledecor.com
The more words one can add to describe a room the better! Rustic Beachy Chic, sounds like the perfect name for this space designed by Vicente Wolf for Ralph Pucci. The wall to wall curtains are a perfect way to create the allusion of a large window. The wire frame bed is simple and works beautifully in this space. I love the simple blue and white bed sheets, so fresh! The rustic wood table to the left is a cool surprise in the space. It adds definition to such a light and airy room. The Bertoia chair brings the wire theme to a 360. What do you like about this space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: A New York Family Room

http://www.architecturaldigest.com
How gorgeous is this Family Room designed by Delphine Krakoff? The New York townhouse is very clean and simple, a break from the hustle and bustle right outside. The art piece over the fireplace mantle was done by Frank Stella. The art piece to the right was done by Yoshimoto Nara. These two pieces really make the space. The furniture is very simple, and minimal. I love the two black arm chairs, and Benni Ourain rug. The most beautiful feature in the space is hands down the two story window overlooking the courtyard. The amount of light and nature that enters this New York townhouse from that window is amazing. What do you think of the space? Which piece is your favorite? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: Floor Glamour

http://bellevivir.blogspot.com
I absolutely love this Living area featured in Architectural Digest Spain. The classic, historic architecture of the room is sharply different from the mod interior design. The floors are the statement of the room. The unique design, and pattern work well with both the interior design and the architecture. I love the balloon arm chair. It's a great piece of furniture to curl up in and read and book. Under the bookshelves at the back, is a unique chair. The chair seems to be heavily influenced by Native American design. I love how this chair looks and works in the space. The center medallion looks like a drum! I love the Moroccan table. The space has such a variety in design styles. All the styles add another layer to the space. What do you think of the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: Modern Glamour

http://www.elledecor.com/image/tid/6659?page=1&pause=1
To call this space beautiful would be an injustice to its magnificence. Featured in the current issue of Elle Decor, this glamorous Living Room is a work of art. It's a mixture of classic touches with comfortable appeal. Who wouldn't want to snuggle up on the sofa or custom-made armchairs, while reading a book in front of the fire? The two pieces of art by Sarah Morris on either side of the fireplace add the right amount of color, to give the space a fresh feel. In addition, the Sciolari chandelier brings a more 60s/70s feel to the space. What gives this space its edge is the colors the designer used. The cream white, combined with the subtle touches of gold and deep wall color complement each other. What do you love about this space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: Rustic Modern

http://www.vogue.com/magazine/article/mountain-high-aerin-lauders-aspen-home/#1
I love this Living Room featured in Vogue magazine. I find this space to have a strong Rustic feel, yet not an overpowering one. All the pieces in this space truly bring the outdoors in. My favorite pieces in this space are the wood armchairs, the Cherry Blossom flowers, and fur throw. Which pieces are you favorite? The Frank Lloyd Wright inspired windows are a magnificent statement. I like how they are not covered by curtains as they allow unobstructed views of the mountains. What's your ideal mountain inspired space?

I love these pieces for my own Rustic inspired home. The vintage Rya rug is from Nazmiyal. The inspiration for the rug is tree branches. The Italian Murano chandelier is designed by Seguso and from 1stdibs Paris. The colors play into the Rustic feel, however, the fixture itself is very 50s glamour. The hand carved chair is from Belkind Bigi. The chair was created by a famous NY architect. Not only is it a functional seat, but also a beautiful sculpture. Room Spotlight: Vintage Manhattan Glamour

http://www.robynmcclendon.com/2012/03/24/interior-inspiration/
Located in the Upper East Side, editor and stylist, Jackie Astier's NYC apartment is full of vintage finds. In the Master Bedroom, retro prints and plush materials make the apartment feel both personal and comfortable. I love the velvet headboard. It grounds the bed and works beautifully against the light purple walls. The gold mirrored legs of the coffee table, bring a fabulous shine to the space. A stone coffee table is perfect for any room, I prefer using onyx. This space has so many incredible details. From the light fixture to the fur rug, I could see myself spending a lot of time in this Master Bedroom. What do you love about this space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Room Spotlight: Elegant Chic

http://lookbook.elledecor.com/search/style-Eclectic/keyword-William-Waldron
This Bedroom featured in Elle Decor, made me catch my breath for a split second, when I came across it on Pinterest. The plush materials, and old-fashioned mantle give the space a wonderfully elegant look. The side table with a metal base and wood sculpture give the space an element of surprise. Despite the many objects used in this space, the room does not feel cluttered, but cozy. The walls are upholstered in Heritage velvet by Ralph Lauren, they ground the space with their deep color. The lighter furniture pieces and mantle stand out against the wall color, therefore, the space does not feel dark. The fur blanket and pillows, give the space a glamorous edge. Bringing furs into a space is a great way to give your space a cozy feel. In my own home I have a decorative chair similar to the one in front of the fireplace. Decorative chairs are beautiful pieces of art, I suggest buying one for your home. What do you love about the space?

I chose these pieces as they can easily be placed into the space, because they are in the same color family, and style. The 1825 French Mahogany chest is from Jean-Marc Fray Antiques. The 1970s Cubist chandelier by Curtis Jere is from Dual. The 19th century French chair is from Jayson Home. You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: Modern Elegance

http://www.agencelove.com
When I came across this Parisian Living Room, I was immediately captivated by its modern elegance. While the apartment is traditionally styled, the interiors are simple, clean, and modern. This mix creates for a visually stimulating space. I am a huge fan of the 70s sofas, their strong shape stands out in this space. One can truly appreciate the apartment's architecture because, of the lack of clutter. The edge of the ceiling features a traditionally styled design. I like how this design follows through into the mirror, wall, and fireplace. If you look at the edge of the rug, you will notice a similar design. What do you think of the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Room Spotlight: Casual Contemporary

This Casual Contemporary Living Room in Greenwich Village is full of natural materials, great textures and natural light. The rug is my favorite piece, because it brings a cool geometric pattern into the space. I like how there is not perfect symmetry on opposite sides of the fireplace. The lack of perfect symmetry allows the space to have that casual, laid back feel. The ceiling fixture has a very vintage feel, however, it does not feel dated. It's a simple piece that compliments the many stripe patterns found throughout the space in the pillow, rug, and right side art-piece. The coffee table is very beautiful. What I find interesting about the piece is that you can plant a plant inside it. What do you love about this space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want.
